Unilever agrees to acquire REN Skincare

Unilever has inked an agreement to acquire British skincare brand REN Skincare for an undisclosed amount.

REN provides skin care products such as sensitive skin products, normal skin products, dry skin products, combination skin products, blemish prone products, anti-ageing products, radiance products, cleansers, moisturisers, nightcare products, serums, masks, exfoliators, eye care products, lip care products, suncare products, and toners.

Its products are currently sold in specialty stores and pharmacies across 50 countries.

"It is a brand with an incredibly loyal following, with a unique proposition that no doubt gives it potential for even further growth, especially given that the naturals category is one of the fastest growing in skincare globally. Its premium positioning complements well our existing portfolio."

The acquisition, which is subject to customary regulatory approvals, is expected to be completed in May 2015.
