California-based start-up CLICS has secured a $1m investment through the Wefunder crowdfunding website from Brian Claypool.
Claypool is a nationally regarded civil rights trial attorney and has appeared as a legal commentator on various national television shows.
CLICS is claimed to have started the world’s first Digital Hair Color Studio besides launching pay-after-dispense colour-as-a-service.
Among the other solutions provided by CLICS includes a mobile app-controlled Internet connected (IoT) hair colour dispenser.
This dispenser helps stylist to design any colour as per their imagination and have it dispensed automatically at the press of a button.
CLICS also developed a mixable line of MEA based hair colour that replaces harsh smelling ammonia and does not vaporise like ammonia.
This solution helps stylists to customise hair colours to suit their clients and repeat them with precision.
CLICS’ platform-based service monitors the usage of colours and then automatically reorders colour, thus removing the need for salons to reorder hair colour.
CLICS CEO Charles Brown said: “Brian is an amazing big picture person with a keen ability to translate complex technical solutions into easy-to-understand ideas. We are very excited to be able to work with him and benefit from his strategic marketing prowess.”
Brown further added: “CLICS’s solution is analogous to the Home Depot Paint Center. It unlocks the color space for stylists and their clients and streamlines the supply chain.”
