Korean cosmetics company Amorepacific has partnered with Sephora to launch its premium brand Laneige in Europe.
The launch collection includes Laniege’s Water Bank Moisture Cream with hydro-ionised mineral water that provides deep hydration and the night-time skincare item Water Sleeping Mask.
The newly introduced hydration-focused brand Laneige will be available in more than 800 Sephora stores across 18 markets in Europe, including France, Russia, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Germany.
Laneige was created in 1994 and features clinically proven technologies including WATER SCIENCE technology.
Amorepacific noted that it is the first of the company’s major brands to be launched and sought internationally outside of Korea as early as 2002.
Amorepacific Europe general manager Thierry Maman said: “Amorepacific is thrilled to have Sephora as the exclusive retail partner for Laneige.
“Through this partnership we will finally share this trusted Asian brand with European customers – the simple yet effective, immediate hydration for healthy skin.”
Earlier, the company’s European business included its luxury fragrance brand Goutal Paris which was acquired in 2011.
In December last year, Amorepacific announced its full-scale business expansion in the Philippines with its two global brands, Innisfree and Laneige.
Laneige also entered the e-commerce channels in the Philippines including Lazada along with the opening of its bricks-and-mortar store to expand its online reach for customers.
In May last year, Amorepacific opened a global pop-up store on Bleecker Street in New York City, US.
The company launched its skincare brand Sulwhasoo in 2017 in Europe exclusively through the Paris Galeries Lafayette.
