Givaudan has announced construction has started on the new fragrance encapsulation centre in Singapore.
Set to begin production next year, the new facility is expected to support the firm’s production capabilities, increase its footprint in encapsulation technology, and help strengthen partnerships with customers in the region.
The 500m2, four-level centre will feature a development lab, advanced manufacturing technology, offices, and a warehouse.
Givaudan's chief executive officer (CEO) Gilles Andrier said: “This investment is another step towards achieving our 2020 strategy ambitions. Consumers in high growth markets are increasing their demand for encapsulation technologies for their favourite fragranced products.
“The new centre will be well positioned to respond to these needs.”
Encapsulated perfumes manufactured at the facility will be used in personal care and fabric products.
Givaudan's fragrance division president Maurizio Volpi said: “The encapsulation centre will complement the Fragrance Creative Centre and production hub to offer our customers seamless end-to-end delivery of the very best fragrances and technology.”
Through its new facility, the firm intends to offer efficient turnaround of various processes such as creation, sampling, technology, and production to its Asian customers.
Givaudan develops flavours and fragrances for its beverage, consumer product and fragrance partners. The firm is an expert in fine fragrances, consumer products, and cosmetic ingredient sectors.
