Sensitive Skin Care launches new non-toxic skin care products

Sensitive Skin Care has launched the TrueLipids line of therapeutic, hypoallergenic and non-toxic skin care products made with Zemea propanediol.

The patent-pending line of TrueLipids products are designed to work with the skin to enhance its repair mechanisms in fixing a disrupted skin barrier, to discourage the colonization/growth of S. aureus, and to optimize skin lipid production.

Products in the TrueLipids line that are made with Zemea include TrueLipids, TrueTherapy Deep Moisturizing Ceramide+ Cream For Body, TrueLipids Hydrate, Correct & Perfect Lotion For Face and Body, and TrueLipids Eczema Experts 1 percent Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Barrier Cream.

TrueLipids board certified dermatologist and inventor Dr. Cheryl Lee Eberting said, "One of the critical ingredients in our formulations is Zemea propanediol. Instead of using a petrol-derived propylene glycol, this plant-based natural alternative was used."

"Allergy to petrol-based propylene glycol is very common and we felt it was very important to avoid it in our formulations. Because the plant-based molecule is slightly different, it is likely to be less-allergenic and safer," she added.

Zemea propanediol is said to be a natural, 100% biobased ingredient made through fermentation of corn glucose and developed for use in the cosmetics and personal care market.

It is claimed as a high-performance, environmentally sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin.

Zemea is approved as a natural ingredient by Ecocert and the Natural Products Association, is certified 100% biobased by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has both Kosher and Halal certifications.
