CoTZ has introduced a new mineral sunscreen for use on the super sensitive skin of babies, toddlers and kids aged more than six months.
Known as CoTZ Kids Pure Botanicals SPF 45, the new broad-spectrum sunscreen protection features a plant-based formula and reflects away harmful UVA-UVB rays from penetrating the skin.
CōTZ stands for Contains Only Titanium and Zinc and was created in 2002 by a plastic surgeon. It is also known as the Healthier Sunscreen.
The new line is completely free of chemicals, gluten, preservatives, parabens, paragenesis and phthalate.
According to the company, it is easy-to-blend, naturally soft and gentle, as well as works to help “keep children’s delicate skin healthy and beautiful”.
It further noted that Titanium Dioxide (3%) and Zinc Oxide (10%) active ingredients “are proven to be clean and safe for both skin and the environment”.
In a statement, CōTZ said: “Unlike spray SPF formulas that are often used by parents for quick application, moms and dads never have to worry about chemical absorption or inhalation with CōTZ.
“It is reef-friendly and does not contain any chemical filters like oxybenzone and octinoxate that have been shown to encourage coral bleaching.”
It is fragrance-free, not tested on animals, and water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.
CōTZ Kids Pure Botanicals SPF 45 can be purchased online and is priced at $23.99.
