Start-up company Lian established by University of Nottingham graduate Lili Zhu has imported new Asian skincare treatment, Lian Masks, to the UK cosmetics market.
The company was established to source and supply serum masks from Asia to the British market.
The new Lian Masks are thin bamboo extract serum sheets that can be used on their own or can be combined with other normal skincare regimens. It can be pressed onto the skin and can be peeled off after using.
Lili said: “I found it very difficult to find anything like the serum masks when I came to the UK from China to study.
“I also want to make beauty treatment more sociable and fun. I think that sometimes it’s presented as being a very serious thing in the media, and I want to help to change that, and encourage people to embrace their individuality.”
The new serum masks are available in pre-printed fun designs, such as wild animals.
Commenting on Lili’s business, the University Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ingenuity Lab manager Steve Chapman said: “We work with a diverse mix of talents and nationalities here in the Ingenuity Lab, and establishing international links, as Lili has done, is helping many of our businesses to find new customers, suppliers and ideas."
