





L’Oréal USA to open SalonCentric distribution centre at Tejon Ranch Commerce Centre
Tejon Ranch agreed to open L’Oréal USA’s distribution centre SalonCentric at the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center (TRCC).
The agreement was made following Tejon Ranch’s approval on additional terms on a lease between the firms. The new development will be built over 240,000ft2 of space in a 480,000ft2 building developed by TRC in partnership with Majestic Realty.
Operating in 48 US states, SalonCentric distributes professional products for salons.
As part of the initiative, the company will move its distribution centre in Valencia to Tejon, California.
Gevilan teamed up with Silk’n to release skin-tightening RF device
US care brand Gevilan collaborated with Silk’n to release a skin-tightening device to help reduce signs of ageing and reverse sagging skin and wrinkles.
Called ElaziR 3D, the new device uses Silk’n’s patented home-tightening skin (HT) technology that is claimed to make skin firmer within five weeks of treatment.
The non-invasive device was found to be 96% effective in a clinical trial, which saw a reduction in wrinkles after using the technology over a specific period.
Flavours and Ingredients Maker Frutarom shareholders approved $7.1bn merger
International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) plans to acquire global flavours and ingredients maker Frutarom after receiving approval from the firm’s shareholders.
The decision was made by Frutarom at a general meeting, where 94.6% of attending shareholders approved the deal. These represented around 75% of all outstanding shares of the company.
Subject to clearance by the relevant regulatory authorities and other customary closing conditions, the $7.1bn deal is scheduled to be completed by Q4 2018.
Acon Investments to acquire hair styling tool maker Goody Products
Acon Investments and its affiliates signed a definitive agreement to acquire hair styling tool manufacturer Goody Products.
Completion of the deal is subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Acon Investments’ partner Suma Kulkarni said: “We are excited to be able to give Goody Products the focus and resources it deserves to prosper as one of the leading brands in its segments.”
Happy Skin Cosmetics and Kathryn Bernardo launched new makeup collection
Happy Skin Cosmetics announced a collaboration with Filipino actress and model Kathryn Bernardo to release a new cosmetic collection.
Owned by Allure Asia, the Philippines-based makeup brand will release the new cosmetic collection Generation Happy Skin, which includes cheek tints, mascara, lipsticks, rouge, an eyebrow pen and pressed powder.
The products are said to feature skincare properties as they have been formulated using green tea extract, sunflower oil and hops flower extract, which are believed to nourish the skin and boost healthy brows and lashes.
Real Techniques’ limited-edition makeup brush collection launched into space
Real Techniques became one of the first brush brands to be sent into space with the launch of its limited-edition makeup brush collection Brush Crush Volume 2.
Working with Sent Into Space, Real Techniques launched its galaxy-inspired collection from Earth on 1 August using a helium-filled balloon.
The brushes ascended at a rate of 5m per second for 116 minutes and travelled to an altitude of 36,338m, surpassing the official point marking the boundary of near space (19,000m).
L’Oréal to acquire German cosmetics maker Logocos Naturkosmetik
L’Oréal signed an agreement to acquire Logocos Naturkosmetik, a German cosmetics company that owns brand such as Logona and Sante.
Based in Hanover, Logocos Naturkosmetik’s products are claimed to be suitable for vegans and bio-certified.
It’s portfolio features plant extracts and natural ingredients derived from organic farming.
Shiseido launched cosmetic inks, gels, powders and dews
Shiseido pre-launched a range of cosmetic inks, gels, powders and dews in Tokyo as part of its new makeup collection.
To be launched globally on 15 August, the range comprises 21 products in 125 shades. It is claimed to utilise state-of-the-art technology and Japan-sourced ingredients.
